FibreMood Franca Shirt Dress
You got me at mid-length shirt dress! :-) Shirt dresses have a special place in my heart and with the warm weather here, they are perfect for it.
I’m happy to finally share the details of the Franca shirt dress by FibreMood.
Pattern: Franca by Fibre Mood (Issue 10)
About the pattern: The Franca is decribed as a mid-length shirtdress with large curved side slits. It also features a front placket and back yoke.
Size Made: This pattern is meant to be very loose. I made a size S graded to a M at the hips. I decided to sew this size based on the pattern’s finished garment measurements.
My body measurements: 40”, 34”, 45”
Fabric used: I used a leopard print Ecovero from Blackbird Fabrics
Modifications: I shortened this pattern by 4inches to get my desired length (I’m 5”4).
Updated: The collar stand is a tad bit longer than the neckline so I put in a basted stitch which caused slight gathers and fixed the issue. There were no notches on the pattern for pocket placement so I serted mine 10.5 inches below the armscye seam.
Overall, it was an easy make. If you’ve made a placket before, this will be a very easy and fun project for you. If you haven’t don’t let that stop you. Challenge yourself!
Happy Sewing,
Sylvia XOXO
